Visiting a Chiva at Pachhai Galli Ngata

Image
In the beginning the shape of a Chaitya started as a Stupa 2500 years ago, with just earthen mound. And that shape continued to appear till today. So a mound as a dome, Harmika with eyes on top of it Torana, Triyodasha Bhuwana, Chhatra, Ushnish are the essential part of Chivas. A Chiva at Pachhai Galli, dome and all above part are missing. A makeshift/temporary cemented cube and a cone is installed, which must have been the effort to complete that Chiva. But now we have the opportunity to put appropriate stone carved dome, Harmika, finial etc. The Chiva was visited several times including with Ward representative, stone carver etc. We would like to thank the community for willing to restore the CHiva, Ward Chief of Ward 18 NhuchheKaji Maharjan and Ward member Hem Jyoti Shakya.
