Machhindra Creates History, Congratulations to our president

Martyr's Memorial A-Division League 

has always been very popular and very much loved sports event in Kathmandu, Nepal.
And this year history is created for the local club of Kathmandu, club from the core of the Kathmandu city - Keltwa. The domestic football league of Nepal started in 1954-55 season.

A club, from the core part of the Kathmandu Valley,  called Machhindra Club from the beginning of this season has played very well and for the pride of the local public won the domestic league. The winning by this local club with humble beginnings has brought joy not only for the club and it's players, but also for the local people of the core Kathmandu. This historic achievement made locals feel that they own the victory. Machhindra beat ArmyClub in the 'final' league game to get the title.

Prabodh Kasaa, who is the president of Machhindra Club, with his leadership and passion for football has led to this historical achievement. The club was established 60 years ago, but never could get to the pinnacle of the league, until this 2020 year.


And with sweet coincidence Mr Prabodh B S Kansakar is also the president of 'Chiva Chaitya', due to his immense love for local heritage and culture.

Chiva Nyas Puja Done at Dhokatole

Chiva Puja is a process which let us remind ourselves  that Chiva itself is not just a mere monument but a living shrine and carries lots of philosophical and spiritual values of Buddhist teachings. Chiva at Dhokatole, Ward 19, Kathmandu needed maintenance due to theft and wear and tear. Chiva Chaitya Organization took the initiative and with the help of community, ward restored the Chiva in 2021. Now a Chiva Puja is done to mark the completion of the restoration as well as to revive the intangible heritage in the form of elaborate puja to make the Chiva a living heritage. Establishing a Chiva passes through different phases namely 1) consecration of the ground upon which the Chaitya is to be erected. There Sūtrap ātana, where a thread makes a Maṇḍala with positions of total 121 deities 2) Pādasthāpana (laying of foundation) is done with specific rules using bricks, hollow spaces etc. 3) then bricklayers lay the foundation.
