Chiva Chaitya has been organizing various programs to increase awareness for protection of unique in the world, heritage of Nepal, Chiva Chaitya. In continuation to this, during lockdown period, with limited movement possible, Chiva Chaitya is organizing a competition. The participants need to answer a simple question "Why do we need to protect heritage like Chiva and Chaitya?". Participants can give short answer upto 100 words.

चिभा चैत्य संस्था पाखें ईले बेले सचेतना कार्यक्रम त याना वया च्वंगु दु। अथे हे आ लकडाउन या ईले चिभा चैत्य पाखें अनलाईनहे लिसः बिई जिईक छगु न्ह्यस कासा (धें धें बल्ला कासा) यागु दु। न्ह्य स खः "चिभा चैत्य थें जागु झीगु सम्पदा यात छाय संरक्षण याना तय मा?" थुकि यागु बचा हाकगु (१०० शब्द सियां म्हो /कम जुईक) लिसः चिभा चैत्य यागु वेभसाईत मार्फत बिया ब्वति काय फई।

Is there any prize for participants?
छुं हपा या ब्यबस्था दु ला?
Among the submitted answers three answers will be chosen by our judges and prizes of Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 300 will be given to first, second and third prize.

Where can you submit your answer?
न्ह्यस या लिसः गन बिईगु?
You can visit https://chivachaitya.org.np website to submit your answer. You can directly type answer or you can submit a photo, if you have handwritten on a paper.

2. Answer in less than 100 words.

4. The answer has to be posted before end of day of 2020 June 20th Saturday

5. The result will be published within a week of last day of submission
५. थ्व प्रतिस्पर्धा या लिच्व छ वा या दुने पिथनेगु जुई।
6. The prize money will be distributed using e-sewa or direct to person or other appropriate medium
६. सिरपा-पुरस्कार त्या पिंत e-sewa वा नापलाना वा उपयुक्त माथ्यमं बिईगु जुई
7. ChivaChaitya organization will have the right to publish in any media answers along with the person’s name/photo who have posted comments related to this competition
७. थ्व प्रतिस्पर्धाय वगु फुक्कं पोष्ट व पोष्ट या पिनिगु नां फोटो चिभाचैत्य संस्था पाखें थगु website/facebook page  वा मेमेगु माध्यमं छापे यायगु जुई
8. Decision of the ChivaChaitya organization regarding this competition will be final

9. The Judges decision will be final and non-contestable

Chiva Nyas Puja Done at Dhokatole

Chiva Puja is a process which let us remind ourselves  that Chiva itself is not just a mere monument but a living shrine and carries lots of philosophical and spiritual values of Buddhist teachings. Chiva at Dhokatole, Ward 19, Kathmandu needed maintenance due to theft and wear and tear. Chiva Chaitya Organization took the initiative and with the help of community, ward restored the Chiva in 2021. Now a Chiva Puja is done to mark the completion of the restoration as well as to revive the intangible heritage in the form of elaborate puja to make the Chiva a living heritage. Establishing a Chiva passes through different phases namely 1) consecration of the ground upon which the Chaitya is to be erected. There Sūtrap ātana, where a thread makes a Maṇḍala with positions of total 121 deities 2) Pādasthāpana (laying of foundation) is done with specific rules using bricks, hollow spaces etc. 3) then bricklayers lay the foundation.
