Book to be published - Inscriptions related to Chiva

Chiva Chaitya Organization is wotking to publish a book with collection of Inscriptions related to Chivas.

Inscriptions hold a profound significance as they serve as enduring testimonies of human history, culture, and ideas. Whether etched into stone, engraved on monuments, or meticulously recorded on ancient manuscripts, inscriptions offer invaluable glimpses into the past, connecting us with our ancestors and their stories. Inscriptions offer vital clues to deciphering forgotten languages, deciphering historical events, traditions, social structures and piecing together the intricate tapestry of human civilization.

They preserve the voices and thoughts of those who came before us, fostering a sense of continuity and reminding us of our shared heritage. Inscriptions also serve as markers of identity and belonging, reinforcing collective memory and cultural pride. By recognizing and appreciating the importance of inscriptions, we embrace our role as custodians of the past and ensure that the wisdom and legacy of our predecessors continue to inspire and guide us into the future. This is true in case of inscriptions found related to Chivas. 

The inscriptions found in Chivas are important in many ways including the fact that there are thousands of Chivas in the valley and established since many many centuries. And most of Chivas are established as votive monument by ordinary people in the name of deceased relatives or as devotion to the Buddhist philosophy. Nepalese history is divided into several period namely Lichhavi, Transitional, Malla and Shah period. As the inscriptions covered start from Lichhavi period Chivas also, they provide history of at least 1500 years.
