Chiva at Chikanmuga (Kami Nani) got restored

We continue to work. A Chiva at Kaminani(Chikamuga) got restored. We continue to restore and attend the unattended heritage. 

Gaju or pinnacle of a Chiva carry lots of symbolism. The lowest part Harmika (cube shaped) contains eyes and key (looking like nose) - door to the wisdom, Toran - with symbol of each of Pancha Buddha(concept of five Buddhas, four depicted on Chiva), The thirteen circles depicting the perfection one need to attain enlightenment. Then at the top Usnish Chudamani- Buddha himself. Thus a Chiva missing with a Gaju is missing lots of deep meaning.

The process includes request by local community to restore the monument, decision what need to be done, making of missing parts (here carving stone for Gaju- pinnacle) and restoration itself.

Chiva Puja is a process which let us remind ourselves  that Chiva itself is not just a mere monument but a living shrine and carries lots of philosophical and spiritual values of Buddhist teachings. Chiva Maintained at Talibi MasanGalli

  There are two Chivas at Talibi MasanGalli which required maintenance. Recognizing Chivas as our important heritage community took interest to maintain and make the Chiva safe with fence. CCO(Chiva Chaitya Organization) is proud to be part of the process and help communities on their behalf to work in heritage preservation.
