Chiva Chaitya - Respect, Promote, Protect

Hope UNESCO Nepal looks into this matter with due urgency. When we build roads, or widen roads, planting trees in the roadside, pedestrian way, proper crossing etc shall be part of the development plan. Only then we can say that it is a development plan, otherwise, it is just another destruction plan. Similarly, heritage like Chiva Chaitya shall be preserved and restored and they shall not be destroyed in the name of development and road expansion. There is always alternative ways to build or expand the roads. The planning should be such that protection is given to these invaluable heritage of the country. Chiva Chaitya is very happy to share that the organization has successfully restored a fallen Chiva at the east stairs of Swoyambhu. The Chiva fell down and was damaged due to fallen trees around four years back. Now that the damaged parts have been located, repaired and restored with dignity at the original place. The family of descendants of the Chiva establishers performed their rituals with great respect and pride. As per Iswor Khadgi dai(from Kohiti), his ancestors with lots of hardship had established the Chiva and also the Budhha statue. Chiva Chaitya Organization is pleased to publish result of the competition 'Why we need to protect heritage like Chiva Chaitya?' held in June 2020. Although there was plan to distribute certificates and prizes in a program, due to continued COVID situation, gatherings are not possible.
